Latest Render Images of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus Give us Clear Look at the Devices

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus have us rubbing our hands together in anticipation. March 29 is still some time away, so we can just drool over some renders for now.

The latest renders come to us courtesy of @OnLeaks and Gear by MySmartPrice. OnLeaks says that these renders are based off the factory CAD. Have a look:

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is reported to bear dimensions of 148.9 x 68 x 8 mm, while the bigger Galaxy S8 Plus is said to arrive with a size of 159 x 74 x 8 mm. The article also mentions that neither device will bear a dual-camera setup of any kind, so we will have to wait and watch on this end. The devices will also feature an extra button on the side, which is reported to be for quick launching the new Bixby personal assistant.

OnLeaks has also featured a comparison image of the camera bumps on the Galaxy S8, and the previous Galaxy Note 7 and S7. The Galaxy S7's camera bump was a good 1 mm protrusion above the rest of the back panel, and the ill-fated Note 7 tried toning it down to 0.8 mm. The upcoming Galaxy S8 does shave off a fair chunk, bringing the protrusion down to a barely-noticeable 0.2 mm if the renders are to be believed.

While OnLeaks has been reliable in the past, we would still be skeptical of the leaks of these devices. The sheer pre-release attention that the devices are attracting has given rise to plenty of false information and fake leaks all over the internet. The overall picture painted by reputable sources give us a very interesting set of devices indeed, so we just do not want to be burned by excessive hype. So consider leaks as leaks and not confirmed information from Samsung directly.
