XDA Senior Member madsquabbles is reporting that he received a phone call from a Verizon representative offering him a free Daydream View VR headset in order to apologize for the Pixel XL shipment delays. The user states that the representative knew his device's activation date and they did not have to disclose any personal information to the representative to receive the headset. Many people on Reddit are also stating that they have received a call from the same number, so this does appear to be legitimate.
