LG V20 owners have noticed two issues that limits charging speed and throttles the CPU when charging or under heavy use. The first issue happens when the software detects charging/heavy use/gaming as the small cluster CPU cores throttle to 652MHz while the big cores throttle to 1,036mhz (even when temperatures are normal). Another issue is that the charging speed is slowed to ~300mAh when the screen is on. So XDA Member Holyman007 has put together an LG V20 mod that eliminates both of these restrictions, and it only requires you to use a replace a specific system configuration file.
The full instructions can be found in the thread below, and it should be noted that this LG V20 mod requires you to have root access on your phone as you are replacing a system file. Although thermal throttling itself is not affected (ie. the CPU is still slowed down when the temperature of the cores hits 80 degrees Celsius), your phone will definitely run a bit hotter when charging.
