T-Mobile Offers Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 XL Owners $325 for Switching

The exclusivity deals that we see in the smartphone industry seem to always be present and that isn't changing anytime soon. Last year, Google partnered with Verizon Wireless for an exclusive deal for the Pixel and the Pixel XL, and this is continuing in 2017 with the new Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL. However, just like last year T-Mobile is jumping in and offering owners $325 in a MasterCard card bringing the phone to them on a T-Mobile ONE or Simple Choice Unlimited plan.

As much as customers dislike exclusivity deals, some times they are needed for executives to sign off on creating a product or even continuing with them. A great example of this is the Galaxy S Active series that for a while has been exclusive to AT&T but new rumors say it's coming to T-Mobile soon. In this case, Samsung may have not had enough votes from the higher ups to create a more rugged Galaxy S variant in the first place if it weren't for the terms from the partnership.

It's possible that the same can be said with Google and its new Pixel smartphone series. We know that Verizon has been doing a lot of great advertising for the Pixel phones and this is likely part of the deal put together with Google. For better or worse, this is how things are and they will continue until the partnership ends (it could be a mult-year deal) and the two companies decide to discontinue it. This doesn't stop other wireless carriers from offering promotions though and that is what T-Mobile is doing for the second year in a row.

So like last year, T-Mo is offering an incentive for Pixel customers to come and join their network with a Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL that was purchased from Google, Verizon Wireless or other original retailers. You'll either need to port your current number over to T-Mobile, or activate a new line of service with either the T-Mobile ONE plan to be eligible for the promotion. Existing customers can also get in on the deal by adding a line of T-Mobile ONE or Simple Choice Unlimited.

If eligible, the $325 will be mailed to you in a MasterCard card. Be sure to visit this T-Mobile landing page if you're interesting in the offer.
