Here’s Snapdragon 845 In The Flesh [Gallery]

Unless you've been living under a rock, you're probably aware that Qualcomm announced a new flagship chip at its Snapdragon press summit in Hawaii on Wednesday. The chipmaker's execs and engineers talked about its semi-custom Kyro 385 architecture, speedy Adreno 630 GPU, next-gen Hexagon machine learning chip, and its Spectra imaging processor. But conspicuously absent from the presentation were pictures of the chip itself. If you were wondering what the Snapdragon 845 looks like in the flesh, though, wonder no more: XDA Developers was able to get its hands on a mocked-up version of the chip.

Our first impressions? The Snapdragon 845's tiny. Really tiny. It's almost tough to believe it's packing billions of transistors and specialized cores designed for everything from artificial intelligence to foveated rendering, but the engineering wizards at Qualcomm clearly have a handle on the ball.
