Huawei to Officially Launch the Nova 2S on December 7 in China

Back in May of this year, Huawei launched the nova 2 and nova 2 Plus, two mid-range smartphones packing some impressive hardware for their prices. Fast forward 6 months and the company is now gearing up for a mid-cycle update for the nova 2 in the form of the nova 2S. The device itself has frequently been leaked over the past few weeks, which has, in turn, revealed many of the details about this upcoming smartphone. However, up until now we didn't know exactly when this device will be made official. That has changed as the company has started sending out press invites for the official launch event.

According to the press invite slide obtained by Mysmartprice, the official launch event for the device will take place on December 7th in Beijing, China.

With the nova 2S, Huawei is aiming to bring even more powerful hardware to its mid-range offering while presumably still keeping a competitive price tag just as its predecessor did. The rumors have it that the device will sport a 6″ Full HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It will be powered by last year's HiSilicon Kirin 960 octa-core chipset and will be paired with 6GB of RAM. Rumors also suggest it will feature a 20MP + 16MP camera setup on the back and 20MP + 20MP cameras on the front. Finally, it will come running Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box with Huawei's custom skin EMUI 8.0 on top.

With the official launch event only a few days away at this point, we won't have to wait long to find out more about Huawei's latest mid-range smartphone.

Apart from the nova 2S launch, Huawei is also confirmed to hold a global launch event on December 5th, where the company is expected to announce the international availability and pricing of the Honor V10 and Honor 7X smartphones.
