Google and LinkedIn have announced a partnership that should be very useful to the Android Developer community. The two companies are teaming up to offer training courses for the Google Android Developer Certification exam. This exam is commonly used in developer job openings. The program will offer 19 different courses with 48 hours of content on the LinkedIn Learning platform.
LinkedIn Learning is built on Lynda.com, which was acquired by LinkedIn in 2015. A monthly subscription costs $29.99 and a yearly subscription costs $299.88. You can also get a free trial if you're interested in trying the courses without a commitment.
According to LinkedIn data, demand for Android developers has increased 33.5% since 2015. Data also shows the number of Android developer hires has doubled in that same time. It's expected to grow by 24% by the year 2026. Need more convincing? LinkedIn data shows the average base salary for an Android developer is $85,000. It's clear Android developers are in demand.
