New Tasker Beta now available, finally launches in the Google Play Beta program

Earlier this month, Tasker ownership was transferred to João Dias, the developer of the AutoApps suite of Tasker plugins. We talked with Dias about the transition and it's clear the future of the app is in good hands. Today, Dias has released his first beta build the exciting news is he will be using the Play Store beta program from now on.

Tasker Beta 5.1.3b isn't a big feature update. Dias is simply making sure his build process works correctly, as he uses a different process than Pent. The important thing for beta users is to get signed up for the beta program on Google Play. Users will be able to install beta builds much easier this way. No more downloading and installing APKs. However, app factory betas will still need to be downloaded manually (download the APK here).

If you're unfamiliar with Tasker, it's a highly configurable automation tool. If there's some type of crazy automation you'd like to do, there's a very good chance it can be done with Tasker. Even some of the most complex and intricate jobs can be automated. It's a great example of what you can do with Android if you go all in. The app comes with a 7-day free trial if you'd like to try it out.

Get in on the Tasker beta program in the Play Store right here. We look forward to many updates from Dias in the future.
