One of the best features of the Netflix app for Android is High Dynamic Range (HDR). HDR expands the contrast and color range. You get a wider range of colors and more contrast, which makes videos look more like they were intended. Several Android devices include HDR support for Netflix. The newly announced Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy Tab S4, along with the LG G7 ThinQ and LG V35 ThinQ, have just been added to the list.
Previously, we've covered the Razer Phone, LG G6, Huawei P20, Huawei Mate 10 Pro, and Sony Xperia XZ2 gaining support. The list of Android devices with HDR support is now up to 16. It's no surprise to see Samsung devices quickly get support. First, they're extremely popular. Netflix wants to look good on these devices that are owned by so many people. Second, they have great displays. A big, beautiful display like the one on the Galaxy Note 9 deserves the best quality.
