Commander Genius: shows as compatible with SATV but won't start games in 3.0FW

Used Commander Genius multiple times on other android devices, Play store said it's compatible with Shield Android TV , BUT even if it works, (only tested in marshmallow) ... it won't start any games , only shows config menus, allows you to choose which Commander Keen to play, but won't start. ALSO , looked at Play store website and nobody else has any comments on it... Tried finding the website for the app (was apparently also made for PC , but I couldn't find any real information on device compatibility.) Anyone got any ideas? any help?
