wifi tether app? (Rooted XT1096 running 5.1 victara)

I just rooted my phone (unlocked BL --> TWRP --> SuperSu).

I'm fine running 5.1, but need to find a wifi tether app that works. I've tried using OpenGarden and Wifi Tether router (Grasso) in the App Store (among others), but none seem to work.

Any suggestions without installing a new ROM?
