About Root

Hello friends;

I wanna about root something. Is root process deleted the personal files or something on phone? If yes which status do this? For example I rooted Samsung S6 edge, Samsung S5 mini and Samsung i9500. After these roots nothing delete. I heart some root process deleted personal datas. So I wanna learn about this status. Thanks for now.

Spitballing but what the hey maybe by the off chance i can work together w/ sum1 on

creating a application I firsthand envisioned. I choose this site as to be my offloading of the subject because my plan is; what with all this social networking advancement, to "develop" a social networking app. And call it (k)lick up. I coined the banter [expression] and I will not be "convinced' otherwise. I believe there is meat on the bone also open minded to suggestions. maybe a hang out of sorts where you don't have the choice to ignore what some people post, where you have the option not to be knowledgeably obligated to publics viewpoint everywhere you look. open to anything really. something more on a personal basis. Rather then for, lack of a better term, what's mentionable according to choreographers' media. this can be predominately posts of friends lives and not advertisement. if the concoction is successful and people want it to do better the donations should keep the ship afloat because the guests are that intrigued by the principal. also where your profile isn't willy-nilly out for everyone and there mother to add you because you have mutual friends. if you really want to get to know someone you will seek them out by name. this is in part to up my post count and recognition trolling will not be taken serious.

Help! Pipo X9s Windows 10 drivers.

Took delivery of a Pipo X9s yesterday but the windows 10 installation was corrupt. Tried recovery but it didn't work. It was constantly blue screening! Installed a fresh copy of Windows 10, but it has no driver's! Can someone please help as the place where I bought it from don't seem to want to help! Also tried downloading the software from pipo but the download keeps failing and I don't know how to install it either!!!

Any help would be gratefully accepted!!!

Need a little help to move first steps in modding

Hello there. I would like to make my zenfone 2(ze551ml dual sim) a little more spicy. At first, I need some thread to do the following, it would be great if somebody could help to find them :
-unlock/lock bootloader
-install a recovery/go back to stock one
-root/unroot
-restore full stock
Than, I've a few questions:
-If I restore my phone full stock, even locked bootloader, will my phone warranty be restored ?
-if I stay on stock ROM, if I lock again bootloader and get stock recovery, will I be able to update via ota again ?

Really slow and laggy and battery time is really bad

Hi so i bought my Z5C 5 months ago and the last weeks after marshmallow update, my phone has been really slow and laggy. The battery life is really ****ty aswell... Sometimes the phone just freezes.

I have the white one.

LP always boots in recovery - is my SGSA screwed?

what i'm trying to do is installing lollipop on my s advance

i was coming from CM11 by epirex, and i decided to try his SlimLP; did all the wipes, flashed rom and gapps with no error at all, and then the phone endlessly rebooted into TWRP

so i did a deep clean installing jb with odin; then rooted, installed cwm, flashed MaxiCM this time without gapps and... again the phone only boots into recovery.

what can i do? can this mean that my phone is dying?

Note 2 boot load loop fix - cause System Memory full

Hi everyone. This is the first time ive posted anything on here. I will try to fully describe my problem that i really need help to fix.

My wife got my old Note 2 is rooted and she got my
Dad's old unrooted Note 2. After deciding that she didnt want a rooted phone she decided to use my father's unrooted phone. Due to apps updating and the internal memory getting full she ingored the warning message not really realising the outcome. The phone eventually shut itself down and is stuck on the Samsung logo (boot loop). So i gave her my old rooted phone back because she said that it just died. The same happened to the rooted phone too.

I asked before what she did and i was told nothing it just died. So i had nothing to go on. It wasn't until a week later when I tried to sort the problem out she said the System Memory was getting full and a message came up warning of this. So now I believe the problem is that the on board memory has got full and the phone seized. Much like what happens to a PC when the main hard drive gets full!

When i attempt to boot the phone up the Samsung logo show and stays on, never booting up. This happens with both phones. When i hold the Home key, Power button and Up volume switch. The phone loads the first Part of the boot up and at the moment it goes to the system screen it goes blank for a split second and back to the start of the boot. No matter how many times i try it fails. So I can't Factory reset or erase anything because i can get to it that screen.

So I try something else. I press the Home button, Power button and the Down on the volume to access the Download mode. This works fine. So i used Odin to try to put Rom onto the phone hoping this will solve the problem. Both phones connects to Odin alright and I can set up ready to load a rom onto it, however when i press start on Odmin to do its job everthing starts ok but then it goes red with a Failed error message. This happens when i try this on both phones, I seem to be stuck no knowing what to do. I have tried using all the ports on my laptop (window 7) and that makes no difference. The same happens on both devices.

I think i need to clear the memory somehow but have no idea how to do it when i can only access Download mode. I would be very grateful for any help on this but if all else fail I will try to build up static on a ballon and see if putting the near will wipe the memory, lol. Only joking. Im desperate to sort this out.

Any ideas?

Android One: Recovery mode warning sign

Hi,

I had previously rooted my device: Android 1 - Micromax Canvas A1. I also had installed CWM on my device. For some reason, I have removed recovery mode and unrooted my device. My device had Marshmallow with February patch.

But whenever I try to get OTA it doesn't get succesfull. Whenever I try to go into recovery mode it shows my dead android with warning sign saying "No command!". When I try to press "Power Key + Volume UP" I get error message saying "Error in @/cache/recovery/block.map (status 7)".

Reading few posts, I understood that some system files got corrupted and I won't get OTA updates. So downloaded one Zip files and I flashed all the *.img files (recovery, system, boot, etc). Now my system had Android 5.1. But I'm getting same error while going into recovery mode.

I also tried to use "Smart Phone Flash Tool " but whenever I click "Download button" it stucks in the same state showing no progress.

I have read many posts and tried many things but I'm stuck at this stage. Can anybody help me out of this problem?

the specs of that phone like our's S DUOS (expect ram 512 MB RAM) . . . . why we don't have that update :crying:

help-infocus m560 preinstalled malware - root only option

ok so i bought the infocus m560 (m808/v5) from ebay. uk warehouse chinese seller.
When it arrived the box was unsealed however the excuse for this could be the seller removed the eu plug and put in a uk one.
as soon as i booted it up I ran malware bytes which came back clean but on browsing through settings - apps I notice something called pandoras box & pandoras box services. the second one has permissions to everything. I cannot uninstall or disable either. These seem to serve no relevance to the phone. I believe it is disguised malware.
someone on another forum reccomended netguard which i dowloaded and tried but as soon as I disable internet access for PB &PBS it AUTOMATICALLY disables web access for a lot of other things, I cannot have only PB & PBS selected.
I've been told that it seems that PB/PBS is running as a system process therefore any unrooted app won't affect it.

I read you can uninstall malware by booting into safe mode but i'm not sure if that will work in this instance?
I can find original stock rom for the m560 which doesnt seem to require root to flash - i could try flashing this which would solve the problem IF it was the 3rd party seller that added the malware, but wont if it was the manufacturer and I don't think there is any way to tell? - i can put a link to the page with the stock rom if anyone wants to check its ok

aside from the above my only other option is to root. I have never rooted before. I am a total noob. I've read the process but parts of it i dont fully understand. I do not want to brick the device. I would possibly be willing to give it a go if someone can provide step by step almost fool proof instructions/a clear guide. I've had a look for rooting on m560 and I think there are a few options available - if someone could be as kind to tell me which would be easiest

any other suggestions/solutions welcomed.
I can submit any screen shots if nescessary.

[Help] FC Issue after Deodexing

Hello everyone,

I had Galaxy S5 G900H with Official LP but wasn't able to install Xposed Framework. After doing some research, I found that Xpose cannot be installed on Odex ROM (possibly on my G900H varient only - not sure) and that my ROM must be deodexed in order to install Xpose so after working on it for the whole day I was able to deodex my rom with Superrs kitchen.

I was successful to boot my deodexed rom & install Xposed framework via TWRP recovery. Now I am getting a FC issue, it says "IndexService has stopped working". My rom is fully stable and no random restarts or FC issues expect the one I mentioned. Now I seek XDA help. I will be thankful if anyone could sort out this issue.

Marshmallow - Data Connection Issue

Hi Experts,

I've recently updated to Marshmallow thru OTA and currently finds huge issue with Data Connectivity.

Somehow I noticed that whenever the phone is on higher temperature (when playing games), Mobile Data will automatically dropped from LTE / H+ to GSM only, on both of my line (dual sim).

Once dropped, there's no way for me to get back the Mobile Data not until I've the phone restarted few round.
This does not previously happen on my Z3 on Lollipop but however such behavior appears only in Marshmallow environment.

Can any of you perhaps advise on the above?

[URGENT] Suddenly can't make calls from Nexus 5

The problem started last night when i was travelling, it was working in my previous city, but as soon i got the signals on the airport in next city, calls suddenly stopped working. It ends with "Call ended" as soon as i try to dial a number. I can send SMS, receive calls, but can't make any calls.

I tried my sim in another phone, works fine, another sim in my nexus 5, same problem with that sim, so the problem is with the phone.

Tried factory reset, dirty reflashing of MOB30D build, problem remains the same. Any ideas what happened? Please reply, it's urgent as i am with no other phone in another city right now. :crying:

MicroSD. Which one to buy?

I bought a 64Gb MicroSD for little money. It is not brand, but when I copy large amounts of files from the PC (ie music), then when I put it on the phone, the music disappears. This problem can be given by the poor quality of MicroSD? What do you recommend? A MicroSD Samsung Evo may be okay?

Default messenger app question

I know the default messenger app does some weird compression with mms a have been using textra on my moto x for a while now but just bought a 6p and really love the look of the default app. Does anyone know of a fix to make it not compress them so much?

Unable to use AOL mail without browser update.

Firmware is b005 and the phone is rooted via kingoroot.
i use the Apex Launcher.

Bluetooth stutters on 5.12 (Tablet Fengxiang & XIDO)

i got two 10" tablets and both got the same issue:
bluetooth stutters / skips when playing an audiostream (Spotify, Youtube, Netflix, etc.) I found this:

Add this line to you build.prop and watch the skips disappear: ro.bluetooth.request.master=true

But it doesnt change to play well. I cant find and access "audio.conf" to change more.

Which are the SAR levels for the HTC One M9 ?

Hallo,

I would like to ask:
Which are the right SAR levels (values), for the HTC One M9, on head and on body, for the EU (European) Model OPJA100 and for the US (USA) Model OPJA120.

I have searched about it. Findings are:
0.369 W/kg (body) / 0.518 W/kg (head). Source is cnet UK: 'HTC One M9 Specifications'.
0.35 W/Kg Body SAR (USA), 0.56 W/kg Head SAR (USA). Source is DeviceSpecifications: 'HTC One M9 - SAR Values'.

These SAR values, are very close: 0.369 is close to 0.35, and, 0.518 is close to 0.56. This is not quite normal. Almost always these values are quite different, because the SAR measurement process is different between Europe and USA. It is W/kg@10g and W/kg@1g, accordingly.

How to set start page on mobile browser

I have very little data on my plan and don't use my phone a lot for internet so wondered if it's possible to set my START page to Google, for example.

Every thread I find about Chrome, those settings aren't there any more.

Can't find any for Firefox.

Can't find any for the default browser.

I just want the browser to start up EVERY SINGLE TIME with the blank Google search page rather than reloading the last tab I was in.

Failed at modem.bin when flashing 6.0.1 stock firmware

Howdy! Please help me newbie with this problem. Mine is SM-G929F, its region is DBT, which is Germany. My current firmware is 5.1.1. As I haven't received Marshmallow update OTA, as well as when I checked for update in Smart Switch, I decided to use SamFirm and download the suitable 6.0.1 firmware for my Region. And then I used Odin to flash it, with Kies uninstalled, Samsung drivers up-to-date and so on according to the instruction I've read. Now what I have is a fancy brick with the Samsung brand on it :(( I can still get into download mode. What should I do now?

Disable AGC for decent in-call volume on Skype?

Hey folks,

Does anyone know how to (flashable zip, script or setting change) disable Automatic Gain Control in CM13? Every build I've tried has it turned on by default resulting in the other person not able to hear me on Skype. I've tested it myself using the Audio test service they offer and it is extremely quiet on playback.

Recording using audio recording apps that allow my to over-ride AGC gives loud and clear playback, so hopefully there's a way to disable this in Skype (there's no settings to do so that I can find anyway) or on the whole system.

Enable OTG on Huawei P9

I recently got my P9 and instantly bought an USB-C HUB (Aukey USB-C to 4-Port Model: CB-C26) to use it with Andromium OS. Long story short, OTG doesn't work, TV doesn't show anything. I used an App to detect if the Huawei P9 supports OTG and it showed that it does.
Does anyone know why I am not getting this to work? Does anyone have an solution?

How to Unbrick the Lg G2 T- Mobile with software if not shown by computer

Sir, I installed Twrp recovery and then my mobile phone got stuck in Fastboot after erasing the whole recovery, Aboot, boot and laf I rebooted the LG G2 Mobile and it doesn't show any thing then i used SRK 2.1 tool and bring it back to the fastboot mode but now it doesnot showed any phone in Device manager and it showed

Can't unlock bootloader?

I need a 7 inch tablet - which one should I get?

I need a new tablet for my car. It will replace my navigation system from BMW, hidden in the dashboard where the old display was. Charging via cable, so a good battery lifetime is not important.

What it needs to have is
-bright display
-fast processor
-USB OTG
-GPS
-Root support

That's all. I would buy the nexus 7 2013 but they seem to have a lot of problems lately, and you can only get it refurbished as google decided to take it off the store and maybe there is a better alternative which I can't find.

Mediapad x2 7" seems to be good, but it would be sad to hide such a beauty in a car.

Can't get past boot on Samsung Galaxy Screen.

So I've been trying to fix this issue, when I go into recovery I see this line of text saying E: Can't mount /system (invalid argument) and then again but /system has quotation marks. A friend told me that this could be fixed using TWRP. I have an S3 GT-I9305 49 Optus version from Australia, I'm not to sure if it is LTE international and that the only version of TWRP for my model of S3. If someone can tell me how I can fix this system issue that would be great, I'd like to avoid losing data but if I have to I can deal with it, I've tried using KIES and I have the USB drivers but my PC doesn't really detect my phone and Kies stays stuck on connecting. And also my phone isn't rooted so I believe that I'll have to flash TWRP on my phone. The question is will this rid the issue and is TWRP for Samsung Galaxy S3 International LTE compatible with my phone. I am quite novice with Android so any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Backup Z5 32.0.A.5.19 firmware

I've just bought a Z5 Dual (E6633) that has 32.0.A.5.19 firmware. I want to make a backup of the firmware so that I can return to the original in the future. I've tried to make an ftf file using the Sony PC Companion and flashtool. When the software update has finished downloading there are no files named FILE in the blob_fs directory. Is it possible to make a backup of the original firmware? I haven't been able to find 32.0.A.5.19 ftf files to download either. Is there any way to get the 32.0.A.5.19 for the Z5 Dual E6633?

[HELP] SM-G900F stuck in a recovery bootloop

Hi,

I'm from Singapore and I believe I have the international s5 (SM-G900F), at least that's what it says in download mode. My phone was running CM13 nightly and till last night it was working fine. Last night when I charged it, I woke up this morning and my battery was incredibly overheated. I changed my battery and tried booting, but now it gets stuck in a bootloop. I flashed stock 5.0 lollipop from sammobile via odin, but it still is stuck. I can boot perfectly into download mode with the android logo. Here are the details:

Story:I was browsing Facebook(Lite version) and I saw a video.The video played for a little but then the tablet froze so I turned it off.Later I went to boot it and it took a lot of time to boot when it boot it was saying Starting apps like I did a factory reset but my apps weren't removed.I did adb shell ((Check the picture:http//i imgur com n58aKVb png[Sorry I can't post an image])to do:"pm clear command" after boot) and instead of the $ I saw a # and I was afraid and I stopped using the tablet.

Unlock Bootloader - Error android_winusb.inf

1. Installation of SDK, Studio, Eclipse. Downloaded the Google USB Driver Package und replaced the original android_winusb.inf by the sony fastboot driver android_winusb.inf like required in C:\Users\AppData\Local\Android\sdk\extras\google\u sb_driver
2. Connected z3c offline to pc and press up button
3. Device manager starts and shows S1 Fastboot
4. Update driver by path C:\Users\AppData\Local\Android\sdk\extras\google\u sb_driver
5. Installation of the official fastboot driver fails because missing hash value in the driver android_winusb.inf .

Do you have same experience or advice ?

CM13 for Yu Yunique Status bar bug

I installed the latest cm13 with cm recovery (as twrp was not able to flash it giving Error executing binary zips this package is for yunique and you have YU4711) then i flashed the gapps (29th april micro version ARM 6.0) using TWRP by rebooting into recovery after flashing cm13 through CM recovery.

But after finishing the boot i got everything fine but when i drag the status bar down it didn't come out down properly i.e i was not able to access notification and quick tiles.

Has anyone had any idea what is wrong with it

HTC 10 Throttling quite a bit.

Hi there.
I have my 10 for a day now and it's my first HTC phone. Because I love overclocking and stuff I've already installed Qualcomm Trepn Profiler even though I don't even have root yet.

The SD820 is a Quadcore BigLittle with core 0 and core 1 maxing out at 1.59ghz while core 2 and 3 go to 2.15ghz.

So I've used my favorite app called stability test v2.7 and did a short run.
To be fair I've been using the phone the whole time with "normal usage" so it was already pretty warm.
But yeah, I don't know the SoC temperature, the phone itself didn't feel more like 40c.

And it dropped to 1.3ghz pretty fast. Normalised CPU load is about 70%




So yeah. Any experiences outside from Benchmarking? I doubt that a 1.3ghz Kryo core will slow anything down if all 4 of them are working, but still. 1.3 instead of 2.15 +1.6 is a little difference.

Marshmallow and SD

I've updated my G900F S5 to 6.0.1. My SD card is not adopted (as internal storage). I've moved some of my apps to SD and my question is, is there a way to see all apps moved to SD as it was possible on Lollipop? Also I would like to see all apps available to move to SD without the need to enter each one under Applications option.

Someone please help with rom flash issues

ok so far i unlocked bootloader so im a dev N910z
i flashed custom kernel: N910F-Stock_Kernel_XXU1COJ3_Root_Permissive_NTFS_PhilZ_v 2.0
and i flashed TWRP: twrp-3.0.2-0-trltevzw.tar

I cant get the phone to flash any roms Via: twrp, download mode or odin....
please someone tell me what im doing wrong... i just want a debloated stock rom/or at least a stock rom (i used a debloater app and i guess i deleted something that prevents games from loading) i would like to via text if that is ok with whomever is willing to help... im matt my cell is 843 9901111 PLEASE HELP im a newb haha

Samsung tab 3 keeps turning off, recommendations ??

I have a Samsung tab 3 8.0 but after going through airport security coming back my device had to be scanned twice by the airline as it was in my bag and ever since it has acted up.

My device battery is failing and the only way i can boot up my device is to take the back off and disconnect the battery and reconnect it.

It has died out several times since so was thinking is there a long term solution or is it worth getting a new battery for as i have had it for many years.

Do you have any recommendations for a new Samsung tab with a screen at least 8 inch and easily modified to remove bloatware.

problem uninstalling myfiles - help

i rooted my s6 android 6.0.1 and uninstalled myfiles app cause it's lame, however i found out too late that there's an android features in setting->storage->explore that uses it.
i want to make it work again, by reinstalling myfiles or by any other means. can you help?

GPS unlock

Hello

I was recommended to ask you the following question about my problem.

I got a GPS device "Telesystem ts 8511" running on "windows ce 5.0." I tried to update maps on it but it wouldn't let me, beacuse of licenses. So I tried to unlock it with "Miopocket". But in the process I have formatted SD card on which there was quite a lot of factory installed navigation app and navigation didn't work anymore, nor did Miopocket (couldn't find a way to instal it). So I found a way to rest the device by using files provided by manufacturer on it's website. that procedure lead me to point where device is asking for SD card I formatted earlier.

I'm triying to get to the os in the device and install some other navigation app on it.

I would really appreciate if anyone would have any solution to this problem.

[Z2][ROOT][6.0.1] Fix for Lame RAM Management on Marshmallow

After flashing marshmallow I noticed that the RAM Management sucked. On lollipop I could keep qbout 10 apps and not have them reload but on marshmallow it kept only about 3 apps.

This was a disgrace on a phone that had 3GB RAM. So I went in search of a soulution and found one.

First of all you will need this app called RAM manager Pro. (The Dev. Also has a free version on the play store.)

Ram Manager Pro

Install it and grant Root access.
Slide out the menu from the left and go into the tab called "RAM"

Then in ram settings select RAM tuner and then usong the slider below set the percemtages as you want. (Mine is at 75% multitasking)
That's it you should see lollipop like RAM management on your device.

P.S. you might wanna select set on boot once your done.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this problem but I had it and now don't.

Black screen issue after crash, recovery not working

While fiddling around in some game, the device goes out due to empty battery (without warning beforehand).
Battery should have lasted several more hours, but the battery status is at 0% so I have to wait a few
minutes before being able to restart. On restart, device boots up normally. (weird: my background got replaced by
stock image). After entering PIN, a few dozen error messages appear (something stopped working), after
clicking 'ok' on the last message, screen goes black (not out).
Next restart, same same, thoug now after maybe a dozend error messages (which I am clicking happily away)
somewhere I spot the message "Android updating"..... black screen.

Boot to recovery:

AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)

DRAM: blabla
Battery OK
Device is UNLOCKED. Status Code: 3

(BTW: What is status code 3?)

Selecting any option (except 'Barcode', which works nicely) the Moto G boots up 'normally'. No recovery screen, nothing.
Straight to "Warning, Bootloader unlocked", same same, .... black screen.

I tried exposing front camera to bright light because some people seem to have problems with
automated brightness control. That's not it.

The history of that device:

Stock rom
-> some things I don't remember, prob some KitKat 4.4.4 custom roms
-> OTA update (yay, soft brick \o/ )
-> stock 5.0.2 according to tutorial of same hero from around here
(of which for the most part, ofc, I don't know what the hell I am doing by typing all that)

Now i tried flashing new Marshmellow 6.0 roms according to instructions by heroes

which cmd and the console in phone bootloader acknowledge one by one, no errors.
Upon reboot, same same, .... black screen.

Then I tried to get rid of that (stock?) bootloader by installing TWRP

mfastboot.exe flash recovery twrp-3.0.2.1-titan.img

but the next time I enter recovery, I'm back to that stock bootloader.

It seems the device is writing all instructions into the Nether.

Things I don't want to read:

- hard bricked
- Motorolla doesn't care about unlocked phones
- you're f*cked

Everything else will be greatly appreciated :) Any ideas what to try next?

[BROKEN?] bootloop every reboot :(

Hi!


I am getting crazy because I cannot understand the reason about this weird behavior.


This morning I got stuck in bootloop (rom pure nexus).


I tried a dirty flash but it didn't work so I made a data factory reset and flashed it again. I had some weird stuff like Bluetooth errors and so on. I restarted the phone and again I got stuck in bootloop.


So I flashed different rom by USB OTG (e.g. Bliss Rom, BEnzo Rom) and the problems are more or less the same: I flash the rom, I boot the rom and I get weird errors (e.g., I cannot use Titanium Backup) and if I restart the phone I got stuck in bootloop.


What is going on? Is it possible I have problem with the internal SD Card?

[Kindle Fire HD 7] 3rd Gen (2013) SOHO - Fastboot Cable burned electronic element! :(

Hey guys and girls,

I need some help. I friend of mine bring me a dead Kindle Fire HD 7" 3rd Gen (2013) alais SOHO.
This one:

It does nothing, stays black. He was not the rooting guys, he was standard user.
Amazon say just that they can give him a 15% discount for a new device. After 17 month the tablet was dead!

We try to:
-hold specific buttons to get into bootloader or recovery with no success
-load it for a few hours / over night and so on..
-disamble the back-cover to disconnect the accu for some hours

Sadly nothing of that give us success. :(

So I told him to leave the tablet in my home, perhaps I can try something.
I flash some Amazon FireTV (box1 & sticks) with an emmc-adapter so I was hoping to find some emmc pinout's but found just some for the TALE model not for the SOHO.

So I read something about that Fastboot Cable and I create my own one.
After soldering I test it with my multimeter and it was fine, like this shematic here:

When I connect it a 6-legs electronic element burned and smoked :D
What went wrong!?

I hope to find that 6-legs electronic element to solder it and to bring this tablet run again. Can you help me to find out wich is the name of that 6-legs electronic element?

The Xperia SP Marshmallow Hub is officially back and better than before! Slow Wi-Fi performance

Hey guys, I'm having issues with the Wi-Fi performance on my 910G. I'm on 5.1.1 and using emotion kernnel v24 beta, when watching YouTube videos, updating apps and what not, my download speed is slow. But this happens most of the time, sometimes I'll get bursts of full speed. Does anyone else experience bad Wi-Fi performance? I noticed when I tried the 6.0.1 rom the Wi-Fi performance was better.

And no, it's not my ISP or my router, as it works perfectly fine on every other device. Tried 2.4GHz and 5GHz, no real difference.

To be honest, I think the Wi-Fi driver goes to sleep when it's not being fully utilized, and seems to get stuck, is there a module update for the specific Wi-Fi card?

Why Facebook doesn't have a colored statusbar?

Why is Facebook the only app in the world without a colored statusbar? Are the devs that lazy? Is it so hard to add one new line of code? Are they not aware this feature exists? Do they hate Android? New features on iOS are patched the day after. Same questions go to Facebook Messenger too.

What do you guys think of this?

Stock HTC One M8 with Bootloop

Hi All,

Really struggling to find info for the bootloop issue on stock HTC one M8 loads for rooted etc

so my phone randomly restarted and then got stuck in a boot loop. i couldn't do anything i managed to get into Fastboot after waiting for the battery to die completely. got into Fastboot and factory reset. but no change.

The fix seems to be to flash RUU onto it but i cannot find any info on how to do it on a un-rooted HTC One M8.

Any suggestions/guidance?

Redmi note 3 Pro / Snapdragon 650 edition - Hard brick resurrect

First of all, i have read some similar threads about this, and all advise diffrent solution besides the hardware mod, I have tried for 2 days all methods in Miui forums and none have worked for me except the hardware method.

My Device: Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro / SD version.
State:
-would only show "Mi" logo when powered on.
-Would enter only Fastboot.
- No EDL mode
- No recovery
-bootloader locked
-In this state, you can't flash absolutely nothing with any software. (from fastboot).

Requirements:
- windows 7/ windows 10 x64 edition.
- ONLY LATEST version of miflash, from 2016 onward, so it has the required drivers and methods to work with the phone. (I have tried with older versions and it did not work, i thought there was no hope for my phone).
- one hard bricked Redmi Note 3 Pro
- any fersion of Stable FASTBOOT OFFICIAL rom. (.tgz extension) - I personally used kenzo_global_images_V7.2.3.0.LHOMIDA_20160129.0000 .14_5.1_global_c85ba6c524.tgz
- medium disassembly skills,
- a lot of patience,
- minimum set of tools (one small cross screwdriver, 1-2 strong finger nails, good eyesight).
- one microusb cable

HOW TO:
1. uninstall all drivers and software related to the Xiaomi phone. (I ended up reinstalling windows 7 just to be sure all was gone - that is how desperate I became). To be sure this is done correctly, with the phone turned off, connect it to the computer.
Go into device manager, search in com ports, or wherever any drivers are installed for the phone, and uninstall all of them, ticking remove driver files also.
after doing this, hit refresh, and see if any drivers get installed again.
Repeat until there are no drivers installed, and the device will be without a driver.
2. Disconnect the phone and RESTART WINDOWS
3. Disable driver signature verification/enforcement:
a. in windows 7, this is easy: restart windows, hit f8 until a menu pops up where you can choose disable driver signature verification/enforcement.
b. in windows 10, it is a little bit longer, but: http://ift.tt/1DEib2F - Be careful, when choosing the option in the last menu, use F... keys, not number keys.
4. while in windows, in the bottom right corner, there should be a message saying "test mode"
5. install ONLY the LATEST VERSION of Miflash! you may get some messages about driver installation (2 times), allow installation!
6. RESTART WINDOWS

7. Prepare the phone!: I followed the video here, even I did not understand the language: http://ift.tt/1NW6iay
- First, I used my nail to open the phone up, just like in the video. It is great that the screen is not glued to the body, there are only some clips holding it in place!
- after opening the cover please be careful - there is a cable connecting the case to the mainboard - the fingerprint sensor.
- after this, unscrew the 7 or 8 screws as in the video.
- unlock the cables as in the video - please be sure not to disconnect all the cables.
- now, first get the antenna plastic cover outside of the way.
- after disconnecting the camera module, I would personally advise you to get the camera out of the way first, as there is a piece of foil glued between the mainboard and the underneath of the camera module (on the display)
- with great care, rise the Mainboard from the display.
- to have better access to the testpoint pins, I turned the Mainboard over the battery.
- now, connect the microusb cable to the phone.

8. connect the phone to the computer.
9. go into device manager and check if there are any devices installed, there should be under ports.... a device called Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 900E.
10. Now comes the tricky part, switching the phone to EDL mode (emercency download)
look on the back of the motherboard of the phone to connect the 2 testpoint pins as in the video. You can use anything to do this. a metal wire, a small scissors, an untied paperclip... You will have to do this while device manager is opened, as you must check it when the driver changes to "qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008".
Please be careful when trying to connect the 2 pins not to touch any metal housing, ans this will restart the device each time.
Now, try and try and try until the driver changes to "qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008".
11. unzip the rom using 7 zip to a destination of your choosing. I advise as short destination as possible and no spaces used in the folder naming. I unpacked it in C:\rom\
12. Open Miflash
13. As per other many many instructions:
a. click browse - select the folder where you unpacked the rom (for me, c:\rom\)
b. click the arrow next to brows button and select advanced.
c. in the first field, navigate to the folder where the rom was unpacked and select flashall.bat
d. in the third field select prog_emmc_firehose_8976_ddr.mbn from the "images"folder in the folder whre he rom was extracted
e. field 7: rawprogram0.xml and field8: patch0.xml
f. Hit the Refresh button, the device should appear as a com port in the white field of Miflash.
g. just to be sure, tick also "flash all" in the bottom of miflash.
14. Hit the Flash button on Miflash and this should be the last step before powering up your revived Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.

This is what I learned in the past 2-3 days.

Different errors I got during the learning process and what i did to avoid them:
- different problems with drivers not installing correctly or showing different device names - just use the method i pointed out in the beginning to uninstall any driver previously installed on the computer, with the refresh in device manager and than uninstalling all.
- "end of package" error at second 2 while flashing in Miflash - you are using an older or an unsupported version of miflash, just use the latest one.
- not being able to flash anything while in fastboot - if you have a locked bootloader, on redmi note 3 snapdragon version, you simply won't be able to flash anything. end of story. this is the whole purpose of having a locked bootloader.
- trying to go into EDL mode using fastboot comand "fastboot oem eld" - this will not work for a really bricked device as was mine. the only solution is to go through the tespoint pin connection.
