I have been on a Nexus 5 for the last couple years and used it as a WiFi hotspot,, which has been an amazing thing to have. Especially at my office where I use it to give my Surface Pro 3 a connection... A couple of times I would activate my older HTC One m7 and try to do the same, but I never got as strong a connection and therefore when connecting the Surface to the hotspot, I'd get the dreaded "limited WiFi connection" and couldn't use it at all. I figured it was a bad hardware or a different antennae causing it. Switching back to the Nexus 5 always worked perfectly.
I recently got my HTC 10 and put Bad Boyz 1.1 on there (which is awesome so thanks to OMJ and everyone who helped him). The first morning I was able to connect and download a about 100MB file without issue. Since then the Internet is VERY spotty via the hotspot and pretty much unusable. I do see the LTE indicator on the phone bouncing frequently between decent, strong, and no bars....but the phone itself seems great as far as data connection.
Any ideas what might cause this? Or fixes? What would make one modern Sprint phones connection or hotspot ability worse than another? I'm honestly wishing I hadn't upgrades if I can't use my hotspot reliably...
Any ideas?
