Helo my m7 does not download when the screen is off, i have to keep clicking the screen so that it stays on at all times when i want my cellphone to download/update something. I dont know if i have to change something on my settings or if it is an htc 'feature' because i am thinking about getting an htc m9/e9 next and i dont want a cellphone with the same problem.
